evening for Lake Tahoe...

A lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe remains in effect until 11 PM
PDT this evening.

* Winds: becoming southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph
then shifting to west 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph in
the evening.

* Wave heights: building to 2 to 3 feet... with the highest
waves from mid lake to the north and east shores.

* Small boats will be prone to capsizing and should remain off
lake waters until conditions improve.

Fire Weather Warning As of 6:05 am PDT on May 17, 2012

... Red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to 10 PM
PDT this evening for gusty wind and low humidity for Mono and
eastern alpine counties below 8500 feet including portions of the
Inyo National Forest and Toiyabe National Forest...

* affected area... fire zone 273 Mono-eastern alpine counties
below 8500 feet.

* Winds... southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Humidity... 8 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... the combination of gusty wind and low humidity will
create critical fire weather conditions.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
