... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am EST Thursday...
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am EST Thursday.
This warning includes northwest and north central Massachusetts.
Freezing rain and sleet will continue past dawn... with some snow possible through mid morning. Significant ice accretions of one third to one half inch are expected during the daylight hours today. Tonight will continue to be slippery... as mixed precipitation changes back over to snow or snow showers.
The expected 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet accumulation... in addition to the glaze... will result in slippery travel on untreated surfaces. So please plan accordingly for the Wednesday morning commute.
Icing conditions may severely hamper travel across the area... so those that have to be on the roads will need to use extreme caution. Drive slow and allow plenty of extra time. Also the icing may cause some wires or tree limbs to fall to the ground. Be very cautious if venturing outside.
