The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northern Connecticut... Massachusetts and southern
New Hampshire... including the following areas... in northern
Connecticut... Hartford CT... Tolland CT and Windham CT. In
Massachusetts... eastern Franklin MA... eastern Hampden MA...
eastern Hampshire MA... northern Middlesex MA... northern
Worcester MA... southern Worcester MA... western Franklin MA...
western Hampden MA and western Hampshire MA. In southern New
Hampshire... Cheshire NH and western and central Hillsborough
NH.

* Through late tonight

* a cold front moving very slowly towards the watch area will
produce numerous showers and thunderstorms tonight into
Thursday evening. Some of these thunderstorms will produce
torrential rains of 1 to 3 inches per hour.

* Widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected...
bringing the potential for flooding. Isolated totals of 6 to 8
inches are possible. Given the potential for torrential
downpours... the threat for flash flooding exists as well...
especially in urban areas.
