... The monsoon shows up for some...
Thursday afternoon was one of the more active days so far this monsoon season in Mohave County Arizona. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed largely along a boundary across Mohave County that separated juicier air to the east over Arizona and drier air to the west of the Colorado River. Most of the shower and thunderstorm activity was slow moving and given the high amounts of moisture available in the atmosphere over Mohave County was able to unleash locally heavy amounts of rain in under an hour. There were several small areas scattered across Mohave County where radar estimated at least 2 inches of rain falling. However as is the case with scattered showers and thunderstorms many areas so no rain at all fall and in most instances the rain that fell occurred over the higher elevations and left most valleys dry.
Below are a list of rainfall totals from this afternoon and evening across Mohave County through 8 PM MST on Thursday July 29th.
