... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this
evening for Pyramid Lake...

A lake Wind Advisory for Pyramid Lake remains in effect until
8 PM PDT this evening.

* Winds: becoming west 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph then
shifting to northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph in
the early evening.

* Wave heights: building to 2 to 4 feet with the highest waves
from mid lake to the East Shore.

* Small boats will be prone to capsizing and should remain off
lake waters until conditions improve.

Fire Weather Warning As of 2:58 PM PDT on May 17, 2012

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 7 PM PDT this evening
for gusty wind and low humidity for the western Nevada Sierra
front and west central Nevada basin and range...

* affected area... fire zone 450 western Nevada Sierra front and
fire zone 453 west central Nevada basin and range.

* Winds... southwest to west 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Humidity... 5 to 10 percent south of Interstate 80 with 10 to
15 percent north of Interstate 80.

* Thunderstorms... isolated thunderstorms could start a few new
fires this afternoon and evening. Storms may create gusty
outflow winds as well.

* Impacts... the combination of gusty wind and low humidity... as
well as isolated thunderstorms... will create critical fire
weather conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
